Desayan is Thriving Beyond Academics

Stephanie, Desayan’s proud mom, shared his incredible journey with us, and we couldn’t be more inspired! 

“Desayan has always performed well in school, especially in Mathematics, where he's never scored below 98%. He excelled in Grade 7, receiving multiple awards, including the prestigious Dux award. His current Grade 8 mark for Math is an impressive 99.28%. Recently, Desayan placed first provincially in the Individual component of the South African Maths Olympiad and led his Junior team to a 3rd place national finish. 

Beyond academics, Desayan is a talented musician. He has passed the Grade 6 ABRSM piano performance exam and is preparing for Grade 7. He also achieved a distinction in the Grade 5 music theory exam and plays the guitar with considerable skill. 

Kumon has given him the ability to work above his current grade level, teaching him the importance of independence and problem-solving. Desayan has been attending the Seatides Kumon Centre since 2019. Despite moving away, we chose to stay with Seatides because of the warm, supportive environment where children feel comfortable and loved.”
